Happy Birthday Miss Jen!

We celebrated Jen's birthday Saturday night at the Melting Pot. Yummy! Samuel was very excited to hear that Miss Jennifer would be coming over to babysit so mommy and daddy could go on a "date." Apparently, Samuel fell asleep around midnight but Andrew W. was still awake when we arrived home around 1am. We had so much fun!:-)

Pumpkin Carving Party

Our Pumpkins!Wednesday night we headed over to the Wood's for dinner and pumpkin carving. After Samuel designed his pumpkin's face, he was off to play and left the carving up to me! Abigail wasn't too sure about the pumpkin guts. LOL *see picture below* It was a fun night spent with great friends!

More Fall fun!

Samuel had his last soccer game on Saturday morning. He has improved so much since last year and looks so big out on the field. He still enjoys the practices better than the actual games but all that really matters is that he's having fun!

After Samuel's game we met Uncle Bill, Aunt Chris, Andrew & Kelly and headed to Pumpkinville in Leesburg. The kids had a great time on the moon bounce, climbing wall, slide, hayride and seeing all the animals. Samuel even road on a camel!

Sunday we met some of our playgroup friends at Great Country Farms. We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch where Samuel found the perfect pumpkin for us.

Afterwards, we headed over to the Ashburn Fire Department Open House. The kids got to ride on top of a fire truck and also sit in a Medivac helicopter. What a fun and tiring day we had!

The Lipstick Bandit

Date: October 20, 2007. Suspect waited until her mother was out of the room and snuck into the bathroom to retrieve a tube of lipstick. Suspect then proceeded to smear it all over her face, forehead and floor. The tube was destroyed! Suspect caused her brother to be late to his last soccer game because cleanup was an absolute must. Suspect is 16 months old, has brown hair and blue eyes and an adorable smile. Suspect answers to the name Abigail, but has also been known to operate under the alias "Miss Priss, Little Women or Squirt." Use caution when approaching, suspect may be armed with various jewels and/or make-up supplies and is considered glammed and dangerous.

Fall Festivities

Georgetown vs. Fordham

We took Samuel to his first football game on Saturday at Georgetown University. We met Memaw, Pepaw, Mikey, Uncle Bill, Aunt Chris & Andrew. Samuel enjoyed the game, and Pepaw and Uncle Bills team, Fordham, beat the Hoyas 38-31. It was a fantastic game with Georgetown mounting a second half come back that had us all on the edge of our seats hoping Fordham would pull it off. Fordham stopped Georgetown on downs with just over a minute left and was then able to run out the clock for the WIN! The highlight of the game for Samuel was when he got to give the Fordham football players high five's as they ran onto the field after halftime and the Georgetown team high five's as they were walking off the field after loosing the game. GO FORDHAM! He was a trooper and made it through the entire game but towards the end he was ready to go. Unfortunately mommy, daddy, Memaw , and Pepaw were not leaving with the score as close as it was. It was a great game, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you Pepaw taking us and we look forward to rooting on Fordham next year!

After the game we picked Abigail up from my mom's then headed over to meet everyone for dinner. Abby & Kelly had fun playing together in their matching pants from Gymboree (no, it wasn't planned) but don't they look cute!

CORN MAZE
Sunday morning we met Amy, Andrew, Trace-Ann, Dan & Olivia at the Corn Maze. Abigail had her first encounter with a pony and lets just say I think she will be okay if she never has to sit on one again. She loves animals as long as they aren't too close. Our little princess did not want to cooperate when I tried to take their picture with the pumpkins. What a little stinker. Everyone had fun running around, bouncing in the moon bounce, launching water balloons, going in the corn maze etc. Abigail was so tired by the time we left, she fell asleep before we got out of the parking lot.

Conversations

S- Mommy, do you want to know what's different about my teacher Ms. Caitlin?
M- Of course, tell me.
S- She has brown hair now. She said it was too hard keeping up with being blonde.

S- Look mommy, you have a ding-a-ling hanging in the back of your throat. ( we were playing doctor, and he had his flashlight shining in my mouth)

S-Guess who helped me with my project at school today?
M- Who?
S- Ms. Heather, not the big Ms. Heather, the small one.

S-Mommy, when is the sun going to stop shining in my eyeballs?

S-Mommy, Abby's running around upstairs by herself.
M- How is she doing that? When I left her, she was in her crib.
S- I got her out all by myself.
M- You did what???!!!??
S- Aren't you proud of me?
M- Come show me how you did it.
(he stands on the crib railing, grabs her around the waist and slowly pulls her up until he looses his balance and they both fall to the ground)
S- See mommy she likes it. She thinks it's funny when we fall down, and she falls on top of me.
M-I see that. But, next time can you please let mommy help so you guys don't get hurt.

S- Mommy, I'm not gonna be your best friend anymore...(as he stomps away because I wouldn't let him do something)
A few minutes later he returns.
S-Mommy, I am still your best friend.

S- I want to get a jet pack for Christmas. Are they real or pretend?
M- I believe only superheroes use jet packs.
S-But mommy, I'm bored staying on the ground. (at this point his bottom lip is sticking out) I want to fly!

Barney

Look who I caught on my bed watching Barney today. She was acting so darn cute, smiling and dancing around so I grabbed my camera. Shocking huh!
For those unlucky folks who have not had the pleasure of watching Barney, he's a big purple dinosaur. At the end of each show they sing the "I Love You" song. I don't know about you but every time I hear this song I end up singing it ALL DAY LONG.

I love you, you love me.
We're a happy family.
With a great big hug
And a kiss from me to you,
Won't you say you love me, too.

When Abby heard the word KISS she puckered up and just about headbutted me trying to give me a kiss. I did manage to capture the moment before I fell on the floor laughing.
Happy Monday!!!

Little Miss Personality

At 16 months, Abigail's "toddler" personality has really been shining through.

She can say "mama, dada, night night, hi & thank you." She can "moo" like a cow, "quack" like a duck, "hiss" like a snake, "Ho Ho Ho" like Santa and hoot like an Owl......! She loves to empty out all cabinets and drawers while a mint's worth of toys sit in our playroom, undisturbed! Go figure!

When asked to show her muscles (thanks to her daddy & brother) she holds up her hands and tightens her fist so tight that her face and entire body shake. It's the funniest thing ever. I remember when Samuel did this for the first time around this age. We were sitting at the dinner table and for a split second Tom and I thought he was having a seizure. LOL

She no longer walks, she runs everywhere. Boo boo's are starting to happen frequently, this week she has a bruise on her cheek (she ran into a pole at the park), a scratch on her chin (she ran into the coffee table), and a scrape on her poor nose from taking a nose dive down our driveway. If you were to see her, one might think she has been in a cat fight and lost!

Her 4th bottom (front) tooth is finally coming in so maybe her teeth won't look so silly & unbalanced when she smiles that crazy smile.:-)

A few things the little stinker has done over the past few weeks...
-taken off her pajama top on more than one occasion. I went in her room the other day she had gotten her left arm stuck in the neck of her shirt.

-she loves to throw her elephants out of her crib during naptime which results in either no nap or me going in there several times to give them back to her.

We are having so much fun with her.

We got BOO-ed.....

Samuel was so excited tonight when he opened our front door and discovered that we had been BOO-ed! We will have to start getting some stuff together so we can Boo some of our friends and neighbors this week. What a neat tradition!!

Kitchen

Abigail loves the kitchen especially when I'm in there trying to cook or clean. She's an excellent helper when dinnertime approaches. She opens the turn around and hands me just about every spice in there, after that task is completed she moves onto the tupperware cabinet once that's emptied she is either tired and stands at my feet whining or she has worked up an appetite for a little snack.
The other morning when I was unloading the dishwasher she of course wanted to help until she discovered that the silverware basket could serve a different purpose--see her lovely new purse! She prissed around the house filling it with necklaces, bracelets, toys, you name it, it was in there. She's something else!:-)

William Sonoma Class

Sunday I went with some of my friends to a Williams Sonoma class on cookies and cupcake decorating, followed by a nice brunch at Clydes. So the class wasn't what I expected and to be honest is was a waste of time in my opinion. It wasn't a hands on class, we basically watched the instructor decorate. This presented a problem for me...when you tell your husband and son that you are going to a cookie and cupcake decorating class that translates into Mommy's going to bring a treat home for us. I think Tom's response when I told him I was going "those better be some darn good cookies and cupcakes". Luckily, I had a solution...WEGMANS! On my way home, I wheeled into Wegmans picked up 3 pumpkin cookies that actually looked very similar to the ones from our class and voila, problem solved. As I pulled into my driveway, I was greeted by my handsome 4 year old who was smiling from ear to ear with excitement. He was very impressed with my Halloween cookies! ;-)

2008 Scrap Bowl

This morning I registered for the 2008 Scrap Bowl http://www.getcroppin.com/feb_class.cfm . This is going to be so much fun especially since my sister & friends will also be there. Ansleigh and I signed up for 3 classes--My Kind of Beautiful, I'm Just a Girl and A year in the Life. I can't wait!!!

To all of my family and friends.....my husband is fully aware that I will be unavailable on February 16th from 8am to midnight. The reason that I am telling you this, as the date approaches, my husband will conveniently forget and then swear up and down that I never told him! So you guys are my witness! :-)

Weekend

Both kids have been sick with a cough and runny nose. But that didn't stop us from having a good weekend.
Saturday, my sister and I took an all day scrapbooking class from 10-5pm. We made a beautiful Fall album, and now I can't wait to put our autumn pictures in it. I love this time of year! When I got home both Tom and Samuel were going stir crazy, you would have thought I was gone for days by the way they were acting. We headed over to the climbing gym so the boys could release some of their energy! Abigail and I tagged along and enjoyed watching them. I believe this is going to be a regular father/son activity since Sam has already asked to go back.

Sunday was a stay at home and relax day, if that exist. I cleaned my car, and I'm embarrassed to say that I filled up an entire grocery bag with toys! We now have a new rule--only two small toys are allowed in mommy's car, if I find more than two, they are thrown in the trash. We'll see how long this last. I think alomst every kid on our street was at our house while I was cleaning my car, I had plenty of helpers to say the least. It started with Samuel & Will playing then Amanda & Amber joined in, followed by Zade & Adam. We spent the majority of the day outside enjoying the nice weather!
