National Building Museum-DC

We were a little stir crazy this morning when we got up so we decided to head downtown to see the Lego Exhibit at the National Building Museum.  We saw 15 buildings from around the world that were made from lego bricks. Samuel was in Lego heaven! We all enjoyed creating our own lego masterpiece. 

And these little guys/girl got to come home with us!

A rare moment

When these two are sitting on the same couch I usually hear "stop touching me, stay on your side, MOMMY!!!" When I saw them having their "30 second" moment I had to capture it!

25 Years ago......

Twenty-Five years ago today, I proved to my mom that I had officially stopped sucking my thumb! Two weeks prior she had promised  if I stopped sucking my thumb, she would pierce my ears. The reason this day stands out in my mind, I remember counting down 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 with my fourth grade class as we watched NASA's space shuttle Challenger lift off. They were in the air for a total of 73 seconds before their mission ended in tragedy.

The Storm of Being Stuck!

It's snowing......and look what my boys are up too!

Poor Papa left work (DC) at 5pm and finally arrived home at 1:30am to a cold and dark house--no power!The roads were a mess!  Apparently, people were abandoning their cars on the road opting for a hotel room instead of sitting in traffic for hours and hours!  I guess there's an advantage for Tom driving the car that he drives....if there's a snowflake in the air, he can't make it up the hill on Augustine!:)

Movable Holiday

The kids had a "movable" holiday that was moved from Monday to Tuesday, today! We began our day with a not so great Abby. She's a little under the weather with a cough and her whiny voice in full effect! Samuel and I started our first world puzzle together while Abby got a head start on her Valentine's day cards. We took a movie break midday and went to see Gulliver's Travels with Grandma'ma. Great day spent with the kids.

Just Plain 4!

We went to Wells' high school basketball game last week. During the game we overheard Abby telling a women, "I was just plain 4 before Christmas, but now I am 4 1/2!" She is so excited to be four and a half instead of plain four!:)

8th Tooth

Tonight will be the tooth fairy's 8th visit to our house tonight! It's going to be interesting to see how all these new teeth fit into his little mouth...:)

Face Plates



My parent's gave these plates to the kids several months ago. We have really enjoyed them! They look forward to dinner and love making their own creations! I must admit, I think I like making the face creations as much as the kids do!

Half Lunch

Abby @ 2:15: Mommy when can I have lunch?
Me: Didn't you already have lunch?
Abby: No, I didn't.
Me: Sweetie, you ate a sandwich, yogurt, and goldfish when you got home from school?
Abby: No, that was my half lunch!
Me: Half lunch? Would you like a snack?
Abby: No, I would like lunch!

Snow, I mean ICE day..

School's were closed due to ice. The kids had a blast slipping and sliding around today. Samuel ran off with his friends, so I didn't get any pictures of him sledding, but I do have a picture of his wet snow gear that he left at the front door! And here's a picture of him playing xbox after he finally came home.

Tuesday, January 4

She can tie her shoes @ 4.5 years old

Abby came running into my room this morning and said "mommy, look I can tie a bow!" Not believing her, I untied the bow and asked her to show me. Well, see for yourself!
During Christmas, she helped my mom wrap presents and put pretty bows on them...I'm guessing that is where she learned!

Thirty-Four

I had a wonderful day! Abby and I went to the "painters" late morning, afterwards we met Stephanie and Jacob for lunch. Tom and the kids took me to Akira Japanese restaurant for dinner, YUM and back to the house for cake.  They always make me feel special on my day! XOXO

Me: Pencil
Sam: oh, because I thought you had to use one of those feather's that you dip in ink!
Me: What made you think that?
Sam: Well, you did live in Georgia!
