Crocs = Crayon Holder

If you ever need a place to store your crayons just use your croc! Isn't it interesting how kids manage to entertain themselves, when bored, at a restaurant?

Photoshoot Gone Bad...

This outfit came all the way from Poland- Thanks, Grandma'ma & Papa! I think it is just adorable on her. Of course, I wanted to capture the moment so off we go to the backyard. Well, little Miss Grouch didn't have that in mind, maybe next time~

A timeline of the day Abigail was born...

I often wonder how we would communicate if we didn't have e-mail. I guess, I would have to actually pick up the phone! Which I am terrible at doing.

During my delivery Papa was in charge of sending updates to everyone via his BlackBerry. As I look back one year later...I am so glad Papa e-mailed everyone because I now have a timeline of the day Abigail was born! I'm sure Abby will one day love reading about it!

This picture was taken as we were heading to the hospital.

Has it really been that long! I can't believe that our little women will be one tomorrow. I went into labor on a Friday. In fact, when I woke up that morning I felt different. I did have a few signs that morning, I'll spare you the details, but trust me it was obvious something was happening! My OB said I should come in for a quick check since I was 4cm dilated at my last apt. so off I went to the doctors....only to have them tell me that I was not in labor--that's not what you want to hear when you are 39 wks 2 days pregnant! This made me even more determined to prove them wrong because I just had a feeling. My mom and sister came over to help me get things ready, just in case I was right. :-)

Late afternoon, I decided it was time to go to the mall...I needed to WALK! (I was having contractions every 15-20 minutes!) So off we go...my mom, Samuel and I. (Tom was at an office happy hour convinced I was not in "real" labor) We walked several laps around and then decided to get something to eat. The Dulles mall food court was the place to be...we ran into Marc, Hannah & Ashley, Deborah, Chris, Liam & Garrett, Kelly, James, Caitlin & Megan (Megan was just a few days old.) I ordered my food ate two bites and was done... By the time we left, I could barely walk through my contractions.

When Tom arrived home he was sent straight to bed to sober up....I think he was in denial that I was in labor! I finally called the doctor around 11pm since my contractions were very painful and about 10-15 minutes apart. We decided it was best to labor at home---around 1:30 I couldn't take the pain so I woke Tom and called my parents. We got to the hospital around 2:30 am.
And the rest is history!!!

Daddy Samuel

Mommy: Samuel, what do you want to be when you grow up?

Samuel: Ummm, I think I want to be a daddy.

Mommy: How many kids do you want to have?

Samuel: Fourteen!!

Wowsers, it sounds like I'm going to be one busy grandmama in the future. :-)

Guess What Abby did today...

I left Samuel and Abby downstairs for literally 3 minutes this morning while I checked my e-mail. As I was sitting as my desk typing, I heard someone playing with the upstairs gate. Hmm, it wasn't Samuel he was still downstairs, guess who it was? Yep, Miss Abigail! She climbed up our back staircase all by herself, something she's never done before! I almost had a heart attack when I realized what she had done. Thank goodness our little women didn't fall. Afterwards I asked Samuel if he watched her climb the stairs, his reply- "yes mommy, aren't you proud of her!".

Chuck E Cheese

It started storming about an hour before our pool playdate was scheduled so we had to think fast...Chuck E Cheese seemed to be the perfect place to take the kiddos. Great idea, Ms. Jen!

Dream

Samuel: Mommy, I had a dream last night. Do you want to know what it was about?

Mommy: Of course, tell me.

Samuel: I lifted up a manhole and I saw a mean drainer.

Mommy: What's a drainer?

Samuel: A drainer is a guy who looks for stuff that's green and has a gun that shoots green stuff out of it.

Mommy: Is this drainer guy someone you saw in a cartoon or movie?

Samuel: No Mommy, it's just a dream!

Tape

I'm clearly rubbing off on my child! Tonight when we were upstairs playing, I heard Samuel yell "mommy quick get your camera" so of course I ran as fast as I could to get it. He said "look mommy, I have tape on my sock, take a picture!" So here it is...Samuel with tape on his sock.

Learning the meaning of "NO"

I think it's time to start teaching Abigail what the word "no" means! Tonight, every time Samuel and I would say it to her, she would get this innocent look on her face as if she was saying " who me, I'm not doing anything wrong." You could tell by the look on her face that she knew she wasn't supposed to be touching the outlet- I think she was just testing us!

BTW- Don't you just love this cute little outfit? Thanks Casey, you can go shopping for Abby anytime!!!
