What a nice surprise it was to discover the kids have a teacher workday today. I hadn't put it on the calendar since it said "movable holiday" just in case something changed so I was thoroughly surprised when S and A came home saying "we don't have school on Monday!"
Our day began with a quick trip to the pediatricians. Abby has a mysterious rash on her elbows, knees, hands and face. The doctor thinks it's viral and not contagious so we will keep an eye on it this week.
From the doctors office we met friends at Rebounderz, an indoor trampoline arena. The kids had so much fun!
After jumping and playing games we headed over to Chick-fil-a for a late lunch. Yum!

Hi Havalynn,
My daughter currently has an identical rash on her elbows and knees. The dermatologist thinks it is viral. How long did your daughter's last? Did you treat it with anything? The dermatologist has us applying desonide steroid cream 2x a day.
Thank you for your help!
Jane
Hi Havalynn,
Just wanted to post a follow-up in case anyone else is wondering about the mysterious viral rash. My daughter is 5 and it took about 2 weeks for the rash to clear up. We only used the desonide a couple times. It did not appear to help the rash.
Thanks!
Jane
The test showed the rash was not viral, but an allergic reaction to something she came in contact with. It happened again so we had allergy testing done. All came back nonreactive. We are now playing dedective to figure it out. So glad your daughters cleared up!
Hi Havalynn,
Thank you for follow-up. Sorry to hear your daughter is having an allergic reaction. Both of my girls have mild/moderate allergies and it can be so hard to figure out the cause. Best of luck!
