Yesterday, after picking Abby up from school and we headed to the grocery store. Once we parked, I realized my wallet was missing from my purse. We came straight home and spent over an hour looking for it -- no luck.
Fast forward to this morning.....
We drop Samuel off at school and are on our way home. I ask Abby once again if she has any idea where my wallet is. Here's our conversation....
Me: Abby are you sure you don't know where mommy's wallet is?
Abby: No mommy, I don't. (a few seconds pass) Actually, I do know where it is! It's shoved under the TV in the playroom, Samuel did it!
Me: Are you sure Samuel did it?
Abby: Yes, I saw him, he did it, really he did!
When we got home she walked in and went straight into the playroom and pulled it out. Needless to say, we have been talking a lot this week about honesty and how important it is to tell the truth.

1st COCKARIDDLE Talent Show
We had our first ever Cockariddle talent show. Jackson did a fantastic job on the mic introducing each act and Aunt Ansleigh announced the scores. I am happy to announce that every act received a perfect 10!
First up-- Lawton, William & Samuel. They told "Yo Mama" jokes...... Here are just a few!
-Yo mama is so fat that her bellybutton gets home 15 minutes before she does.
-Yo mama is so fat that people jog around her for exercise.
-Yo mama is so fat that she had to go to Sea World to get baptized
.
Abigail & Olivia cheered.
A-W-E-S-O-M-E, awesome, awesome, awesome are we!
Then Wells, Olivia and Jake performed a skit....Jake experienced stage fright and decided to crawl under the couch when it was his turn to speak! Samuel took over Jake's role.
Jackson and Abigail performed the Hokey Pokey together.
The show ended with all the kids singing Jingle Bells. Wells (15), Lawton (12), Olivia (9), William (9), Jackson (9), Samuel (7) & Abigail (4). What a fun night full of laughter, smiles and family time. Memories we will always cherish!
Can you say TROUBLE?
When these two rugrats are together and not under adult supervision, their usually up to something like this! :) They were so proud when they walked upstairs to show us.
You stinkers owe me a tube of lipstick!

Chalk Drawing
Today we were outside drawing with sidewalk chalk. Abby asked if I would draw a picture of her wearing a party hat. When she noticed I drew her holding flowers she ran over and said...
"Mommy, you are the best!" followed by the biggest hug ever!~

Party With Preschool Friends
Abby celebrated her birthday a little early with her friends from preschool. They played on the waterslide, played pin the bow on Hello Kitty, and ate lunch. The waterslide was a big hit!
She helped make the cupcake for her party. I think they turned out pretty cute! ;)

Abby's 1st day of Preschool!
Abigail 1st day of preschool! As you can see from the pictures, she was running around the front yard posing and acting so silly. She was in such a good mood, when we pulled up to her school, she literally jumped out of the car and ran into the school. She has two wonderful teachers (Mrs. Kathy & Mrs. Mary) and lots of new friends! Mommy and Abby made it without any tears, just lots of smiles and excitement. When I picked her up, I asked her how her day was "mommy, that was a lot of fun, can I go back tomorrow?" She had a fantastic day!

First Day of First Grade
Today was Samuel's 1st day of 1st grade! He was pretty excited, but I think that he was also pretty nervous! I don't blame him since it is a new class, new teacher and mostly new classmates. Surprisingly, I had a harder time with this transition than I did with him going to kindergarten. Maybe it's because he's gone from 7:35-2:45 this year...that's a long day, or perhaps it's seeing my baby boy get on that BIG yellow school bus with all the older kids! His teacher, Mrs. Edwards, is a perfect match for Samuel's personality. She is very outgoing and bubbly and wants to make learning fun. I just know that we are going to have an awesome year! I still can't believe that he is already in 1st grade! Kindergarten and Summer just flew by! Here's to another great year!!
Samuel still not fully awake.

Enough Mom!!

Sunday Bike Ride
It was such a beautiful day today...there was no way we could stay inside. We had only one problem, none of us could decide what we wanted to do. Samuel had the great idea of putting all of our suggestions in a basket and randomly choosing one. Samuel pulled bike ride and Abigail pulled ice cream. Perfect! We loaded up the car and headed to the bike path. We road our bike's to Partlows grabbed lunch & ice cream. On the way back we stopped by Trailside park for a little fun. Daddy and Abigail picked pretty wildflowers for me. I couldn't wait to get them home so I could put them in the special vase that Samuel made me for Mother's Day.
We came home and Tom cooked my favorite, Beer Can Chicken! Yummy. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

Slowly Catching Up

I cannot believe it's been so long since I've written here! I hope to slowly catch up on our summer happenings.
We have had an absolutely amazing summer and it's not even over yet!! Our summer started a week before school was out with a trip to Providence, RI & New York City, then we headed to the beach, Las Vegas and will end our summer with our first camping trip. We have... gone to the pool, fishing, bike rides, parks, ice cream, baseball games, playdates, cookouts, hanging out in the cul-de-sac, the list goes on and on... lazy days, busy days.... It's been great! I love the laidback feeling and the later nights w/ kids. The no rush to bed and hanging out in your PJ's until after lunch. I plan to be better about writing here, b/c I really want to record all the stuff Samuel and Abigail are up to so that I remember it! :)

Block Party Fun!
Saturday we had a block party on our street. We arranged for The Ashburn Volunteer Fire-Rescue Department to make an appearance around 4:30pm. The kids were able to sit and explore the Fire Truck, Ambulance and Brush Truck. The highlight was when the firefighters connected the fire truck hose to our hydrant and sprayed water. The kids had fun running around, riding bikes, scooters, playing a game of wiffleball with the adults and breaking in our new waterslide.
